XG Series
Engineered for High Suspension and High Performance
System Overview
The XG Series, developed by GEO, is a range of innovative products based on a natural polymer for use in drilling and soil stabilization. Designed for high solubility and viscosity control and high density, Cross-Gel XG serves as an efficient drilling fluid with long-lasting stability, effective sediment transport, and continuous reuse capability. It is fast hydrating and mixed using any batching system or equipment but best under high shear. The series includes complementary products—XG Break, XG Clean, and XG Shield—to optimize performance, manage fluid viscosity and density, and maintain polymer structure over extended operations.
Applications
Cross-Gel XG is used to stabilize non-cohesive and cohesive soils during excavation, preventing soil collapse and fluid loss, and providing a protective membrane along excavation walls. It suspends soil particles just like bentonite. Interacts with large range of soil profiles, stabilizing unstable non-cohesive soil, cohesive zero SPT N-blow counts marine clays. Its flexibility and reliability provide a solid solution to keep sands, silts, clay, shales, porous soils stable throughout the excavation of a foundation element. The sidewall stabilization is based on hydrostatic pressure and chemical interactions with the soil.
The high-density drilling fluid created by Cross-Gel XG effectively suspends and transports soil cuttings and sediments during drilling operations, ensuring efficient cleaning and preventing clogging.
The entire Cross Gel XG Series broad application in the geotechnical field matches the bentonite solution in soil stability for the installation of diaphragm walls, bored piles, Continuous flight auger, anchors, micropile, jacked tunnels, tunnel boring machines with closed shield or even in drilling water wells. It can be used with reverse circulation equipment such cutters as the high shear does not affect its properties, and enhanced fluid performance over extended periods.
Benefits of XG Series
Strong soil binding through dense molecular charges and high molecular weight.
Minimizes need for reapplication, ensuring long-term stability.
Suitable for challenging geological conditions across a range of drilling methods.
